As an Aesthetician (Skin Care specialist) I came to Georgetown not knowing a soul. I set up my SKIN CARE Business in a one room studio in a hair salon – Rachel and Co!

In 2005 I came up to the Historic Georgetown Square and began the first Novita Spa on the Square.

When will we ever learn that there are no hopeless situations, only us humans who have grown hopeless about them? What appears as an unsolvable problem to us is actually a rather exhilarating challenge.

There is always hope! Hope is tangible and it builds solutions. We need to learn to listen. There are tools to build this inner strengthen to listen. New habits. Rising early to build a plan for the day. Start a Gratitude and Goals Journal, Reading about others and how they not only have dealt with seemingly hopeless situations but overcame them. Coaches and mentors are invaluable. You can not accomplish your dreams and goals without them. These are but a few suggestions.
My book “Hope and Possibilities Just Over The Horizon. It Is Never Too Early Or Too Late To Create The Life of Your Dreams” is my story of personal challenges and ways that I overcame these life situations and events.
Trust. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, and in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Proverbs 3:5-6
When you learn to really listen to your inner voice you will begin to trust it. For example, you may know that there is a plan or a project that you are supposed to do, but it is not the right time for it. You won’t abort it. You will learn to listen to when that right time is. Your discerner will get strong. You will learn how and when to take action.
Action. And I tell you, ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. Luke 11:19
I have learned over time by building these inner discerners and strengths of Listening and Trusting that the decision and knowledge of what, when and how to take Action becomes very clear . There seems to be invisible bridges at the end of what seemingly was a dead end street.
There were many of these situations like re-building my second skin care line after selling my first brand Glycolique. There were many reasons not to go forward. But, after much prayer, quiet time and seeking the answers it was clear that I should take that first step and start my second skin care brand launch Novita Spa Clinicals.
Novita, New Birth, New Life, Always Something New!
This New Year begin to build these inner strengths to Listen, Trust and then to Take Action. They will begin to guide your way of infinite possibilities just over the horizon!

#1. The health of your skin is predicated by the health of your pores. Yes your pore! Not to get too detailed but the epidermis is the top layer of your skin. The top layer of the epidermis is the stratum corneum. It is the protective layer but it’s also where all the action begins. Because the skin is our largest organ, everything effects your skin, more about this another time.

#2. Under a microscope the top layer of your skin, the stratum corneum looks like brick and mortar with thousand of little holes. Those holes are your pores.

#3. So where does the brick and mortar come from? We are made up of cells and our cells have cell turn over every 30-90 days. As we age our cell turnover gets slower. So, if we do not remove the dead skin cells they just build up and make a crusty wall and clog your pores. Those thousands of holes on the top layer of your skin!
You can use the greatest skin care products but if they can not penetrate past the top layer of the skin they just sit on the top layer and will add to the clogging of your pores and the thickening of the wall.
Remember I said, the health of the skin is predicated on the health of your pores? What I meant was that you need to cleanse and chemically dissolve the dead skin cells, the pollution of the day and your own sebum, so your pores do not get clogged and the brick and mortar does not build up.

During this season of Hope I wanted to share my story of Hope and Possibilities.

The directive to write and share my story with you, was given to my spirit the night my husband Paul went home to heaven.
Paul and I were together ever so short, but he healed my heart forever.
He truly was my greatest cheerleader.
This is a difficult season for many and this year many of us including me, can not be with our families. It creates a very different season.
I thought you may enjoy a story of a NYC girl who now has been deep in the heat of Texas for many years now!
It has a backdrop of the NYC area in the 1950’s-1980’s then on to Texas and beyond…
It is a story of love, adventure, friendship and creativity. It is a story of sadness, disappointments and loss.
It is ultimately a story of Hope and Faith!
This is my gift to you…today and always.

I truly love, thank and honor the Novita Spa Team of dedicated and very talented women, who truly are the recipients of this honor with me. We have been committed since 2005 to care for each and every guest. To create true results with value while never compromising on our Novita “Special Pampering Attitude”
As a young woman my dream was to create… After years working with the Wholesale Beauty Industry in National Sales and Marketing, I realized it was to create a “Result Oriented” Skin Care line.
In 1992 I launched my first skin care brand Glycolique. I scaled it then sold it in 1996.
In 1997 I developed again and started Novita Spa Clinical Products.
This “Clean Product” line has been sold to Salons, Spas and Medical Spas for close to 30 years!
In 2004 I came to Georgetown, Texas. As an Aesthetician myself, I pioneered the 1st Novita Spa. It was at Rachel & Company in a 1 Room Studio! I knew no one.
In 2005 I opened the 1st Novita Spa on the Square in the building with DIVA. I had 900 square feet on the gallery. We opened July 2005 together.
In 2007 I took the space that you know today.
I restored it and designed the Novita Spa, a Tuscan hillside retreat that you have known and loved.
Over the years I EVOLVED it from The Novita Spa on the Square to The Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic..”A True Hybrid”.. combining Luxury Day Spa Services with Medical and Wellness Services for true results with that Novita “Special Pampering Attitude”
In 2010 The city of Georgetown launched the “Best Of Georgetown” awards program.
It is a Joy and a Honor to have won the Best Day Spa in the “Best of Georgetown” every year since!
It is a blessing to have won this honor at this time.
This is my last year to be eligible.
In June I sold the brick and mortar spa. I sold it to a company that owns several other Spas in the Austin, Texas area, Halina European Day Spa. You may have noticed that the sign now says Halina.
I did not sell my product line Novita Spa Clinicals, nor the trade name Novita Spa, the web site novitaspa.com or the Novita Spa Clinical product Shopping Cart that is on novitaspa.com
Novita is an Italian word. It means New Birth…New Life…Always Something New…That’s my promise!
The Novita Spa Clinical Products are available on novitaspa.com, at Halina Spa, and soon to be available at other lovely retail locations to be announced.

BACKGROUND:
Many do not know that I have been developing and manufacturing Clinical Result Oriented Skin Care, The Novita Spa Clinical Products, since 1992!
The Novita Spa Clinical Products are sold to other Spas and Medical Spas Nationally and Internationally. They are also sold here at the Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic and on our shopping cart at novitaspa.com.
I utilized my years of working for several large International Beauty Corporations in National Sales and Marketing and then consulting in the Spa and Medical Spa Industries to found and open the Award Winning Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic, in 2005 on the Georgetown Square. I call this a Hybrid Concept in the Spa Industry. This unique Hybrid Concept synergistically combines Luxury Day Spa Treatments with Clinical-Medical Facial and Body Treatments. This synergistic approach creates true results for you!
TODAY:
As you can see I have been evolving and running my own businesses for 28 years.
This winter Rich Ryan, the new owner of Halina’s European Day Spa in Round Rock and Austin, approached me to purchase the Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic!
He realized he needed to add Clinical and Medical Spa treatments to his Halina Spas.
My Hybrid Concept with the Novita Spa Clinical Products along with Clinical-Medical Facial and Body Contouring treatments and now with Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy treatments will complement and marry well in the Halina Spas.
THE FUTURE:
After much soul searching I decided it was time to release the day in and day out operation of the Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic to Rich Ryan.
On June 2nd, 2020 Rich Ryan purchased the Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic.
I am now a Consultant again! I am consulting for Rich Ryan and his Halina Spa’s introducing, educating and training the Clinical-Medical Hybrid Treatments and Novita Spa Clinical Products to all his locations.
GEORGETOWN:
I will be running the Regenerative Stem Cell Program here in Georgetown. I will be at the Spa all the time doing Regenerative Consultations and Seminars.
The name will be changing to Halina Spa and Medical Rejuvenation for continuity and branding purposes but the Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic’s Philosophy of “Clinical Excellence With A Special Pampering Attitude” lives on with myself and the staff!

Anyone who knows me knows that I walk in Faith. Faith that God orders our steps. We make our plans but He orders our steps.
Many of you know that I have been working on many projects over the last few years. Projects un related to Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic and Novita Spa Clinical Products.
This guidance all began the morning after my husband Paul passed away on September 29, 2011. I heard very clearly in my spirit, share your story. My story I asked? Tonight? My life story? God doesn’t answer those questions. I started praying and journaling.
In 2013 I introduced the Medical Component to the Novita Spa on the Square. This has been a very fruitful time for me, my staff and you, our treasured guest. This synergistic program of Traditional and Clinical Spa Treatments with Medical Facial and Body Treatments along with Wellness Treatments has created the unique “Hybrid Spa Program” . This program creates true results with a unique Spa experience. Spa…A Special Pampering Attitude. Never compromising on that pampering for you.
In 2017 I knew in my spirit that God was beginning to do a new thing. I wrote an outline for what was to become my first book. It took three years but in December, 2019 I published Hope and Possibilities; Just Over the Horizon. It’s Never Too Early or Too Late to Create the Life of Your Dreams. It became a #1 best seller on Amazon January 4th, 2020!
March 2020…WOW! A pandemic was thrust upon the world. Even though we were forced to close On March 21, I never stopped. Doing weekly Zoom calls with the team, Podcasts with the team, and The Podcast “Unique Leaders” was birthed. A lot of curbside sales of gift cards and NSC products as well as shipping the products all over the country.
Then on March 31 God moved the furniture again! After doing a Podcast, Rich Ryan came to the front door of the Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic.
Rich is a very talented, compassionate man who is a very experienced business person. He was Senior VP of Rush Enterprises working for them for 18 years. He is a visionary and a builder. Rich after doing research on many business opportunities was blessed to find Halina European Day Spa available. Halina, an Austin icon, was one of the first skin care locations in the area and is celebrating 50 years of service to the spa industry. Rich having tremendous success creating wonderful client experience and team member morale at multiple locations decided to expand his operations.
After meeting with him over weeks, I saw that this was God’s plan for myself, my staff and you.
On June 2nd Rich Ryan purchased the assets of Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic.
As I approach my 70th Birthday I know it is time to continue on with God’s other plans for my life.
I will continue on as a consultant with Rich to build the Regenerative Stem Cell program and promote the Novita Skin care product line. I will be working closely with Rich as we rebrand taking the strengths and heritage of Halina and Novita to create an amazing multi location guest experience. The current business operates in Central Austin, Round Rock, Westlake and now Georgetown. We are very excited about what we will be bringing to you in the future across all of these locations.
It has been my joy to be with many of you over these last 15 years. To build this award winning Spa business and to teach, motivate and inspire the staff that I have been blessed to work with over these years, has been a true gift.
On April 6th The Novita Spa and Medical Rejuvenation Clinic was bestowed the honor of being a Finalist for Austin Women Magazine, Women’s Way Awards, in the Category of Product-Innovation. A beautiful recognition to be awarded to myself and the team that have worked diligently for many years to create true results with a unique experience.
I look forward to visiting with you during these months to come. If you have any questions please give me a call. Rich will be at the Spa on a regular basis and please feel free to give him a call as well. I know he is looking forward to meeting you.
